BECAUSE YOLO!

Some random lyrics that literally did struck me last night while I wasn’t able to sleep well. This is the beautiful exchange and welcome to the aftermath.

Trading your life for my offenses / For my redemption you carried all the blame. / Breaking the curse of our condition / Perfection took our place. / When only love could make a way / You gave your life on a beautiful exchange.

Just want to share to you a line that’s boldly written on my journal. It’s a beautiful quote from my favorite author C.S Lewis. It says:

Give up your self, and you will find your real self. Lose your life and you will save it. Submit to death, death of your ambitions and favourite wishes every day and death of your whole body in the end: submit with every fibre of your being, and you will find eternal life. Keep back nothing. Nothing that you have not
given away will ever be really yours. Nothing in you that has not died will ever be raised from the dead. Look for yourself, and you will find in the long run only hatred, loneliness, despair, rage, ruin, and decay. But look for Christ and you will find Him, and with Him everything else thrown in.

Now there’s only two days left and I’ll be on the road again to finally conclude my summer class and go back to my beloved hometown, there are a lot of things that I’ve been longing for… After all the reruns of busyness and sweats I made on this summer class, the 2 months of living alone on a silent apartment away with my parents, the heartbreak, the learnings, I realised that at this point of my life, I am never too far on His presence - and again and again, He had called me to be on a place of stillness and just be with Him, surrendering all my confusions, the shame and weariness, that after all these things, He is still the same God He said He was.

And I can hear, 2 days from now while I’m sitting on a bus with the piercing sun and a sheets of clouds on a blue sky, His voice. Calm as the wind, surely as a line from the song, “The promise land is just around the bend, let your wind take your wings and bring you home…”
